Other than star cast of ‘TAKHT’, Preity Zinta seems to be very excited about the project. She Tweeted:
As per reports, the movie is a period drama based on Mughal Empire’s regime in India with Kareena playing the role of First Lady of the Mughal Empire, Jahanara Begum. After his unforgettable portrayal of Khilji in Padmaavat, it is believed that Ranveer Singh shall play the role of one of the Brother of Jahanara Begum, most probably of cruel emperor, Aurangzeb.
Who was Aurangzeb- Aurangzeb was 6th Mughal Emperor. Hwas born on 3 November 1618 and took his last breath in year 1707. Aurangzeb was last effective Mughal emperor, his reign lasted for 49 years from 1658 until his death in 1707. During his rule, the Mughal Empire reached its greatest extent, ruling over nearly all of the Indian subcontinent.
Aurangzeb was the third son and sixth child of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan had 4 sons, and he mostly preferred the eldest son Dara Shukoh as ruler after him. But, in Mughal rule tradition of systematic passing of rule didn’t hold strength rather it was customary for sons to overthrow their father and for brothers to war to the death among themselves. After Shah Jahan, race was majorly between Dara Shukoh and Aurangzeb to become the next Emperor. Probably, ‘TAKHT’ is based on this war between the two.
Apart from Takht, Karan is all set to present films like Student Of The Year 2, Simmba, Kesari, Kalank, Brahmastra and Ranbhoomi under the banner of Dharma Productions.
